Well so far this week this is what has happened to me:
I worked Sun and Monday. Took a vacation Tues. Got back today (Friday). Tuesday night as I was making my way down to Tunica, Mississippi which sits outside Memphis, Tennessee, I was caught in a very VERY severe tornadic storm.
Let me tell you that for the first time driving on the interstate with nowhere to go and hail coming down with sirens blaring all around is FREAKING scary. I had to stop somewhere outside of Memphis and into a gas station to run into their bathroom. I have seen a tornado near me before outside but I have never experienced driving through a storm this severe with hail hitting my car the size of golf balls and the sky just so…omnious. First black sky then a grayish color and then pitch black with major lightning as night quickly fell all in about an hour of the storm first hitting.
Luckily there was a break and I made it safely to Tunica. But after an hour of checking into my hotel, sirens blared for most of the night and precautions were taken. This same storm devastated Arkansas which is right across the river from Tunica Ms/Memphis TN. It hovered over us and moved somehow into Alabama causing over 280 deaths I heard. There was flooding everywhere I turned.
Needless to say I made it back home tonight safe and sound. I have never seen devastation like that before on the roads and land. I hope I never have to see or experience it again.
