Where were you when the world stopped turning?
I remember exactly what I did on 9/11/01. I was 20 yrs old. I had woken up earlier than normal that day. My work shift didnt start until 2pm yet I was awake before the second plane crashed into the towers. My cat Lacey was just maybe 3 months old who wanted to play. I turned on the television to see that the first tower was on fire and to be told a plane had crashed into it. A friggin plane!
My first thought was ok, someone lost course and it was an accident. I ran to my mom’s bedroom to wake her up. She didnt believe me that one of the trade center towers was on fire. I ran back to the living room to watch the tv when it showed live coverage of the second plane hitting the second tower. That’s when the phone rang and my mom’s hospital she worked for called to tell her she was on high alert to be called into work if needed.
She got up and watched the tv with me. There were people jumping to their deaths and paper/debris flying everywhere. Then we watched the second tower collapse first. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was in shock. My heart was hurt. The words terrorist attack came from some announcer’s mouth. How and why would someone do that to thousands of innocent people?
The second tower fell. I started crying. I somehow managed to drive into work which surprisingly stayed opened. I was shocked. Something like this I would have assumed a grocery store would close but not mine. People came in as if nothing had happened. Like they wanted to block out what had happened but knew they couldn’t. My co-workers and I couldn’t stop talking about the attacks. It was terrible. All I wanted to do was to be home. I was scared. Could this happen anywhere?
Yeah, I remember that day well. I think seeing those images on the tv will be forever etched in my memory. I pray for all of the victims’ families. So much was lost. I also pray for the continued strength of our country. And to the passengers of Flight 93 families. There were heroes on that plane who died saving others so that the plane couldn’t hurt anyone else. They had courage.
Mom and I won this trip to Hard Rock Casino/Hotel Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It started out first with me winning VIP tickets to the Michelle Branch show at my Hard Rock Cafe last Thursday night. I had no one to go with so I brought my mom. Sometimes I can convince her to come to shows. lol, sometimes not. This time I think she is very happy she came. After Michelle left the stage after her set and before she came back for the meet and greet, the radio DJ’s from 102.3 the max called out half of a number. They had given everyone who won tickets to the show a raffle ticket. There were 10 of us with the first 5 numbers so we stood up and it dwindled down to two numbers left. Mom had the winning number. We still can’t believe it. We had been planning a mother daughter trip for next year but didn’t know where to go or how to pay for it.
This trip is all inclusive meaning flight, food, and hotel. And if you go to Hard Rock’s site and look it up its a massive place with its own private beach in the Caribbean. I still can’t believe it.

Victoria just told me that Early Morning Blues and Rebels will be doing an acoustic set on June 30th.
For those who do not know: BLG’S Bryan is in EMB and John in Rebels and there’s a big chance that Paul will be there too. So you can image how incredibly stoked I am right now :P

Dieting
Dieting is so hard. I have been watching what I eat and trying to eat some yogurt since I gave up sweets. I started taking these diet pills which are supposed to help speed up my metabolism but they make me sick. I came home early today from work because I was sick. I really really need to lose weight before my summer vacation. On top of that when I am off which has been rare these past weeks because I have been working alot of overtime, I have been out walking or dancing to exercise. I’m tired. Dieting sucks.
Buffy Season 4 Episode 8
Best episode of Season 4 of Buffy by far. My reason behind it: Spike.
Spike is the best comical part of the episode. I mean you feel for him sort of. He has a chip in his brain that a group called The Inititive put there where he can’t feed or hurt any humans. This sets the dynamic.
Poor Spike gets tied up in Giles house while a crazy revenge filled Indian starts attacking Giles and Buffy. The end result is a trapped Spike with several arrows protruding from him. lol! His comical and well placed lines rock. Not to mention at the end of the episode when Xander lets it slip that Angel showed up in Sunnydale to help Buffy, Spike’s look on his face was priceless and funny as everyone else looked sorry for keeping Angel from Buffy. Loved the episode and loved how James Marsters just fits as Spike.

They better not kill Beckett off. She better live darn it come new season time in September! I mean he told her he loved her and everything!!
